Keeping Her Spirit Alive
The Alice Dora Foundation is grounded in making effective use of resources to solve society’s most pressing challenges.
The Legacy of Alice Dora Nankinga (1992–2018)
The foundation draws inspiration from the legacy left behind by Alice Dora Nankinga, after whom it is named. Alice was a budding philanthropist passionate about helping underprivileged children achieve their dreams.
"Alice operated as a non-incorporated self-funded charity, spending her individual savings to meet the needs of her identified beneficiaries."
By the time of her passing, Alice had already taken up the care of three children from a poor family in Kiboga, paying their school fees and buying scholastic materials, alongside supporting a tomato growing project in her home village, Kayini.
Alice’s life was cut short just three months after her 27th birthday. She succumbed to cancer in December 2018. During her battle, Alice exhibited incredible resilience and a positive mindset, standing strong amidst severe pain and the loss of her beautiful hair.
She had a dream that went beyond education; she wanted to improve the wellbeing of less privileged families, provide for the elderly, and empower the youth. She wanted to touch the heart of everybody in need.
